A Place Built on History — and Built for Community

The Place at the WUGE is a historic grain elevator reimagined as a flexible event venue and community gathering space in West Union, Minnesota. Built to support celebrations, meetings, and meaningful events, the space brings people together while honoring the past and investing in the future of the community.

At a time when so much of life has moved online, we saw a growing need for facetoface connection — a place where people could slow down, gather with intention, and feel genuinely welcome. The Place at the WUGE exists to fill that need.

This is a place where families celebrate milestones, friends gather for music and conversation, businesses meet and grow, local artists share their talents, and new ideas are tried without needing to start big. At its heart, this venue is about people.

With over two decades of experience working in the event industry, we take a thoughtful, experience driven approach to every gathering. We focus on lighting, flow, atmosphere, and the details that shape how an event feels, offering flexible, à la carte options that allow each event to feel personal and true to the people hosting it.

Community comes first — always. The Place at the WUGE is designed to support connection, highlight local talent, encourage collaboration, and create space for shared experiences that strengthen the community.

Preserving the history of the grain elevator matters to us, not just as a structure, but as a symbol of shared purpose. Our goal isn’t to freeze this place in time, but to honor what it has been while creating space for what it can become.

The Place at the Wuge
is more than a venue.

It’s a place to gather, to belong, and to build something meaningful together.
